  My rating is based on the food and not on their service. For their service I would have to rate them with one (1) star. There is no doubt Naegelin's Bakery knows how to bake some of the most perfect and decadent pastry I've ever tasted. However, the girl who helped us acted very "put out" with our questions in regards to certain ingredients; we have some dietary constraints which we told her as soon as we walked up to the counter as well as letting her know that it was our first time visiting the bakery. We ignored her frustration since we had traveled quite a distance to try out this historic bakery. But, it was embarrassing, to say the least, when she grabbed on to the counter while letting out a huge sigh of relief, as we walked away, asking the next person in line if she could help them with a tone that expressed her annoyance toward us. (There were several people in line who witnessed her behavior.) The dietary question was simply, which baked items do not contain dairy? A question that the kitchen was able to quickly answer. We left feeling rather humiliated with almost $40 of baked goods. The pastries are absolutely delicious and we would go back again but not without a little hesitation, hoping it was just an isolated incident. Customer service is important no matter how great the product. They absolutely have a wonderful product!

  Oldest bakery in Texas. They got a great selection. The staff is really friendly and you can put a special order in if you want to personalize it. They have cookies, cakes, & many many sweet treats.. Great place to go to if you have a sweet tooth!

  Very good treats! And looking at the displays they can do a lot of good customer work for cakes.
